Please note that I keep personal information for business-related purposes only.

I do not collect personal data by any automatic means. I generally come across your personal data because you have either advertised for or contacted me directly about a translation/editing job; because you were referred to me by a mutual acquaintance; or because you work for a company or organization that may require translation/editing work. I keep data strictly for business-related purposes; by this, I mean for contacting, invoicing, performing a job, etc.

I retain contact and invoicing information (e.g. your name, e-mail address, telephone number, and/or mailing address) while we are working together and for the duration required for tax purposes (at present, this means for the UK, New Zealand, and German tax authorities). This data is kept in the form of spreadsheets, e-mails, and prepared invoices and is stored in my computer and back-ups. Personal data contained in translation or editing jobs is deleted once the job is completed and the invoice has been paid.

Please note that since I use Gmail for business e-mailing, your information will also be stored through Gmail. Other than this sharing of information with an e-mail provider that I consider to be professional and trustworthy, I will never pass your personal information on to third parties without your permission.

You may view the information that I have for you and request that it be changed or deleted at any time. Any complaints that you may have can be addressed to me at the following address: liss [at] lbtranslation.ca.
